STATEMENT

Golden Delicious is intended to express a story of form, colour, texture and detail.

A bright and bold gestural assemblage, its pale golden light shines for the makers and their cultural history. Marking a point in our crafting evolution, the work sounds a note of caution for the future of pride in hand making and the innovation that is offered through our hands.

Using bronze to frame the blown glass construction Nick places carefully crafted and sometimes seemingly random glass constructions in composition with components of varying formality and materiality, offering a purposeful perspective and considered narrative.

The arrangement of objects expands the story of the composition telling of routine and repetition that values handwork and is driven by materials and process.

A story of partnership and persistence, a story of tradition and teamwork. A story of the Scent Bottle, Nick’s subject for years, continuing to evolve.
