STATEMENT
Janos Korban and Stefanie Flaubert love metal. They love its ductility, lustre, and raw integrity. They work it into forms which capture movement and energy. The expressive potential of the travelling line is explored in works with an animal character. They explore the motion of the body in space. Phantom #2 explores this in a wall piece using a new forming/pleating/welding technique in stainless steel.

Korban/Flaubert have exhibited both nationally and internationally. Their work is represented in design museum collections in Australia, the U.S. and Germany.
With backgrounds in architecture, design, psychology and metal, Korban and Flaubert have developed a design and sculpture practice over the last 25 years, exploring metal and motion in their Sydney workspace.
