MAKE Award: Biennial Prize for Innovation in Australian Craft and Design

KEY DETAILS

Entry is free.

Designers and makers across all disciplines are encouraged to enter.

The winner of the MAKE Award will receive $35,000 and a second prize winner will receive $10,000.

Finalists will be notified by 31 July 2025.

Finalists work will be exhibited at Australian Design Centre in Sydney and will tour to two other cities including JamFactory in Adelaide over a twelve month period.

JUDGING CRITERIA

Each entry must:

Be an example of the excellence of the practitioner's body of work;
Demonstrate innovation and/or an extension of practice in technique or material that goes beyond what the practitioner is known for producing; and
Meet the conditions specified in the Terms and Conditions.

The winners will be selected based on innovation in idea, technique and material use; how it displays excellence in design, making and/or craft; and its execution within contemporary practice.

The Judging Panel will assess all entries against the above stated criteria.

If selected as a finalist, I will ship my work at my own expense to Australian Design Centre in Sydney by 8 September 2023 to be exhibited. *

I have produced this work within the last 18 months, and it has been in my continuous ownership. *

I understand that if exhibited, my work will be for sale to the public, and if unsold will be returned to me at the end of the tour. *
